Default 02-21-2017 Blind Sound Comparison

Here is another comparison between two guitars that are not as identical as the sound comparison from 2/16/17.

http://wp.me/p3p2sf-28j

How do these two instruments sound to you? In what ways are they similar, or different.

I would suggest trying not to get caught up in what sizes or woods are involved, etc.

Rather, what is your assessment and interpretation of the their tone and dynamics, and how do the equate or not.

Thanks!

Guitar # 1 had a great deal more string balance than #2. Its bass strings were full and rich and it didn't lack in the high end either. Very balanced.

Guitar #2 didn't have that balance and sounded thinner and more on the trebly side.

I would tend to agree, except for the biggest bass notes of #2 when come off deeper and rounder than the rest of the strings, or the bass E string on the #1.

May I ask what are you using to hear the recordings (device or sound card, and speakers/earphones?)

Nothing very advanced, Dell computer speakers coupled with 40 yrs. of playing as many guitars as I could in A/B comparisons.

I only listened to about 30 sec. into the first time you demo'd #2.

It was pretty clear to me what their characteristics were. As subjective as that may be.

I prefer #1 as well. It is richer, fuller, and more balanced. #2 is VERY bright and boxy to me.

I listened through Sure headphones.
