Wow. That was nothing short of fantastic Howard. It is a fluid non-stop groove. It doesn’t waver. It knows where it wants to go. And your are a master jockey.
Nice rapport with the audience too.

Thank you so much for generous assessment! I think it's a good example of how much bass players & drummers have affected my musical existence from childhood. A house concert is almost always my kind of audience, so it's hard to do wrong! Best, Howard http://howardemerson.com |

So I am just enjoying the heck out it (outstanding BTW) when all of sudden
this pops into my head from out of the cosmos , at the section starting 1:43 Now sometimes ...I don't listen To my own advice It just shines ....in reflection Like moonlight off the ice

Glad you enjoyed it! From my perspective keeping a full groove going throughout would be monotonous, but it's easy to succumb to. I don't bite those apples..... The #1 hardest thing I've EVER learned was how to walk away from something that sounded catchy & felt really good to play. By 'walk away from' I mean: Thinking I've written something. There has to be a bigger picture, and I've taught myself to 'walk away' from that seduction, and keep it in perspective, for the 'greater good'. It's a lifelong quest, and I hope to get better each time. I don't blame you one bit for liking it, though:-) Regards, Howard http://howardemerson.com Last edited by Kerbie; 01-27-2018 at 07:58 AM.
