Default Bourgeois News Video

Bourgeois was visited by the local news who produced a pretty interesting video including Dana and the other craftsmen making their guitars.

Fascinating! Thanks for putting this up. My very first 12 fret dread was made my Dana in 1996 - wish I still had it.

A new picking pal has four of his guitars - and brings a new one over every time he comes over - I love my Collings - but ....wow!

The article answered two vital questions - how many in the factory ....10(ish) and hw many gitar prodced per annum ...about 400.

I wonder how that compares with the other famous small factory maker - Santa Cruz ?

I know that Collings has greater production staff and outputs - it'd be interesting to a nerd like me to know the numbers though.

I stopped by SCGC and Richard mentioned he produces around 50 guitars a month - so around 600 per year.

Bourgeois is a classy operation, for sure. I had the pleasure of visiting them a few years ago and have had a Bourgeois guitar for several years. It's the kind of guitar that I'll pick up after not having played it for a while (it's a slope dread and I favor smaller bodies these days) and just be blown away by how great it sounds -- just like I was blown away the first time I played it. It's really crisp and articulate but with an authoritative bass and balance across the full range. Great guitar from a great builder.

Thanks for posting Paul. We both love our OM and two SJ Bourgeois guitars. I have to say the SJ in Madi/Italian blows me away and continues to amaze me every time I pick it up. Recently, we picked up a pre-owned Slope D from an AGF'er and we are enjoying it as well.
