Martin HD-28VS 2002
I’m selling my beautiful 2002 HD-28VS in very good condition. The guitar has been played a fair amount by the previous owner, which makes this one of the loudest, best sounding “S” models I’ve ever heard. The standard tuning machines have been replaced with Waverly machines. In addition, the bridge is slotted and the headstock has been polished, giving it that classy vintage look.
Because it’s been played, the guitar does have some bumps and scrapes. Looks like the top has a couple of bumps which I’ve captured in the pictures, and there’s a noticeable scratch on the back. No cracks and all the scratches are not through the finish. The headstock has the typical scratches associated with restringing slotheads. There is some fret wear, but intonation is perfect, as is the set up. I currently have light strings, but I’ve also played with mediums which fret and sound great. The voice if this instrument is breathtaking. Surprisingly bright trebles along with strong bass associated with these dreadnaughts. The sustain goes on, and on, and on…probably has something to do with the slotted bridge and hours this guitar has been played. If you’re looking for a well played, great sounding and wonderfully set up HD-28VS, this guitar is for you! The guitar has the standard, Martin hard shell Geib type case. $2,050 shipped anywhere in CONUS. Paypal ok, but I’d ask you pay the fees. I’d welcome a face to face meeting if you’re in the Atlanta, GA area! I’ve sold and bought quite a few instruments on this and other forums with positive experiences for all. I have 100% feedback on ebay under the name s4rest. I’d really prefer to sell, but open to interesting trades involving 1950 and 1960 000 and D model Martins. PM me with questions! Thanks for looking. Here are some additional photo’s: http://s189.beta.photobucket.com/use...brary/HD-28VS? Last edited by s4rest; 12-04-2012 at 07:57 AM. Reason: Price Reduction |

Thanks Bozz! Someone's going to love this guitar. Just took it out tonight and wowed the family (with the guitar's volume, not my skill...)

I recently picked up a used D-28 from Guitar Center that I really like, but this has me feeling the pull. I still have some time to return that guitar.... Could you possibly post some sound clips?
