1993 La Patrie Natural Steel String Guitar
Hello, I am new to classic guitars and these forums as well. I recently wanted to pick up a used guitar so I went to an antique mall and snagged one for $100 It stood out to me above the rest so I grabbed it. When I got home I found it really hard to find any information on this piece, so I sent an email to Godin Guitars asking what I had found. A day later I received this email:
Hi, That's a 1993 La Patrie Natural steel string guitar. It has laminated wild cherry top, back and sides, a mahogany neck and a rosewood fingerboard and bridge. It sold for about $275 back in the early 90's. Approximately 500 were built Regards, Michel Bélanger Support Clients / Customer Support Guitares Godin / Godin Guitars All in all I really just would like to find out if anyone else knows more about these guitars and whether or not I should sell it or keep it. I does have some sentimental value to me as well, I do like the sound it produces. It is also in beautiful condition for the age. The amount of wear on it is actually quite gorgeous. Although I love the sound it is old, so it may not be practical that I am carrying around a vintage hand made guitar. I wouldn't want to break it or have something happen to it, if in fact it is a fairly collectable item. Lemme know what you think! Thanks! ***I can send pics too if any of yall could let me know how to share those on this website. I already have the photos on my desktop |

It isn't collectible-they turn up once in awhile and do not fetch much. I had one and did a bunch research on it. I really liked the one that I had-broke my heart when some bozo dropped it and destroyed it.
