FS: Martin D-28 1937 Authentic ***SOLD***

I purchased this Martin D-28 1937 Authentic from Sweetwater in June, 2014. I have been the only owner of this guitar, and taken great care of it–it only has some very light wear from using a pick (over the pickgaurd), otherwise it’s in excellent/perfect condition. It has been kept in its case when not in use and stored in a humidified environment (45-50% humidity).

This is an amazing guitar, and is hard for me to part with. I am only selling it because I want to finance/offset a custom order I placed with Froggy Bottom (this is the second one I am selling to cover it...yikes!). I have a Martin D-42 and 000-42, and while I also love each of those instruments–in my opinion, the Authentic series is Martin at its best. This Martin D-28 1937 Authentic has all of the Martin/Americana tone and ease of playability (I love the 1-3/4” neck) and just sounds so open and rich, with that Martin “growl” in the bass.

Martin D-28 1937 Authentic Specifications:
  • Solid Adirondack Spruce top
  • Solid Madagascar Rosewood back/sides
  • 25.4” scale length
  • 1 3/4” nut width with Authentic 1937 Barrel and Heel
  • Hide glue construction
  • Bone nut/saddle
  • Setup/action (lowered for easy playability) and bridge pins upgraded to bone from Bob Colosi (original bridge pins included in case)
  • Original hard case included

Please note: This guitar was built late 2013/early 2014 and does not feature the VTS (Vintage Tone System)/Vintage Gloss that was announced for 2015. Some may prefer that this is built without a terrified top, others may not, but I just want to be clear this is a build from the originally announced Authentic Series in 2013/2014.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me–this one’s great, and I am happy to tell you more about it.

Hi Mike--I didn't see this before replying to the PM on the Unofficial Martin Guitar Forum. I am happy to reply to your email address if you have any other questions :-)

A buyer asked for 2-weeks to pay and I agreed to hold it for that time. If for some reason that falls through, I will relist it, but I wanted to honor that request :-)
