Default K8 vs.k10

I tried the, both yesterday with a Martin guitar at guitar center..I liked them both so any opinions on which one to get. I would be buying one to start and it would be used for 1 or 2 guitars and vocals..in small to meduim sized places.

Is the wider dispersion better on the k8 or the bigger speaker on the k10. Both have the deep settings and sounded great. Seemed a bit deeper not much but I could hear it on the k10. That could have been the pickup setting as well.

The clarity was great. And it's hard to choose..

Any thoughts..

You haven't gotten any responses, but it's probably because there are a number of other (fairly recent) threads that covered this subject.

Run a search at the very bottom of this page for "K8 K10" and you'll get some views on many of the members who have had experience with both.

K10. You could hear a difference, and so that is your best choice. I don't feel the dispersion factor outweighs sound. Myself, I bought the K12's - sound over dispersion. All three sizes will work for you - your choice.

The EV ELX112P are $600 and are probably a fuller sound than either the K8 or K10.

If you are only going to use I speaker, k8, provided crowds are relatively small.

i have not used or heard the k8 but i have a k10 and a k12. i bought the k12 because i thought it has a little more punchy bass and i play 7 string which is basically bass notes on the bottom.
After a gig where i used the k12 and because i wanted to hear the jbl 515xt, i did a shootout with the k12, the k10, the 515xt and my older Jbl eon g2's and to my suprise in my 16 x 22 foot performance room the k10's exhibited more bass than the k12's i guess because of the size of the room and the dispersion pattern. so now i'm thinking i will use the k10 in all smaller rooms.
