Default Murder Ballad

Ive been getting into other great songwriters for my solo set like Gillian Welch, Ryan Adams, Damien Rice but really wanted to try a Nick Cave track.

So I picked quite a challenging one, hence would be keen to get your feedback, as vocally its very different anything Ive done before. (Ive only been singing for some 6 months)

The song is 'Henry Lee' and its actually a duet with my all time favourite female artist PJ Harvey.

I took a leap and tried to do the double octave thing singing PJ's parts in her key and Nick's an octave lower.

So .. her it is, what are your thoughts, its another stretch for me, but thats what its all about, isnt it ?

The first verse is a bit rough, was hard to get that high pitch off the bat, but persevere.... i think it gets better as i get a bit more confidence into the song.

Sounds much richer using headphones, so if you have a decent pair, put in on.

Comments and tomatoes very welcome !
