I use a floor tuner, sometimes on my Venue DI and sometimes my Boss pedal. It depends on the configuration for the night. HOWEVER! One of the best things I've ever purchased is the new little tuner from D'Addario/Planet Waves the rests on the bottom edge of the sound hole. It is accurate and well hidden and of course always there. Can't beat it!!

Sometimes if my Venue's tuner isn't responding, especially to low strings, I will play the octave harmonic on the string and the tuner seems to have an easier time latching onto that.

It is a truly terrible tuner.
I use a Sonic Research TurboTuner, which is an incredible, true strobe tuner.

It's a shame, I really wish the Venue didn't have a tuner at all, but was a narrower box instead. As it is, it's too large and the tuner is not good (for me). But I do think the Venue sounds great, and the EQ is more than adequate.

The Fishman Platinum Pro has a great tuner and my grandson built this spiffy stand for me so I can maintain eye contact with whoever is "out there', standing or sitting.

I agree. They are excellent for stage use.

Thread resurrection, but just what I was looking for in my searches;

Aura Spectrum = yes poo tuner! ..but how about the one on the Platinum Pro.

I'm hoping to simplify and not need the Boss TU-2.

Thanks.
The Aura's tuner -a) you have to be looking close to straight on.
My rig's on my amp for grab and go changes access.
b) glitched' on the octave 12th fret 'chime on the low E. It wasn't Shure if it was 'E or a ''B WTF?!

I find the Baggs Venue tuner is mostly OK but sometimes won't respond at all and needs to be clicked on and off a couple of times. Not ideal. I always used to have a Snark back-up but they really are pug ugly. I recently tried one of those Korg soundhole tuners, beautifully discreet. The only downside of the korg is that it sometimes has trouble with the low E, particularly if, say, down-tuning to drop D. But as someone else said upthread, just using the harmonic works perfectly. I find the harmonics also sustain longer so if you hit it well, one pluck gives you plenty of time to zero in.

They aren't hanging off the end of your headstock either

Mixsit: I use the Platinum Pro but I use the TC Helicon Polytune Mini for tuning. The PP's tuner is nowhere near as fast and smooth as the TC!

I always have a clip-on snark tuner as well, on the back of the headstock so it is not so obtrusive, and work between them.
I’ll second the squirrelly nature of the Venue tuner ... sometimes it seems fine, others it just won’t respond. Overall, I’m undewhelmed with the Venue. The overall performance is ok but considering what they cost it’s not a purchase I’d repeat.
