Acoustic To Electric Guitar Playing --- Ed Gerhard & Adam Rafferty
I know this is an acoustic guitar forum but I was curious to know the following: are there any major songs that you play often that was done on an acoustic guitar (at least when you heard it) that you play a lot on an electric.
I have been listening to Ed Gerhard's Promiseland and to Adam Rafferty's version of Michael Jackson's I'll be There...I have been playing both on my tele and was curious to know who else switches from acoustic to electric ... https://youtu.be/G8CLvWIxg3o https://youtu.be/56c49t8Uf1E |

I was just playing my PRS tonight and thinking of bringing along this week so that I can play some songs with the ability to actually rip when I want to include a solo that I'd rather be playing electric on.
Is that at least part of what you were wondering?

My carvin ae185 has a piezo in it. Back when I bought it, 1996, it had a better sounding amplified acoustic sound than most other pure acoustics around. However, it has a little too much sustain for some stuff. I guess I like my jazzier stuff on the electric. Chet Atkins did some nice work on the electric too. I just prefer the steel string acoustic tone... the electric does have it's virtues in tone too. Not to mention making it easier to articulate some stuff. I've also been thinking about a half set or so so electric stuff.
I practice acoustic pieces on my electric too when I want to be quieter or save my fingers.
