Default "Layover" - Michael Hedges

One of my favorite songs, here's my cover. A few warts, including a string that falls slightly out of tune a I play. But...this take felt good, so here it is.

This is Andy Mckee's arrangement which features a harder driving feel and a more prominent pulse/downbeat. It requires a more aggressive attack from both hands, as compared to the original.

Hope you like it!

Congrats. Good job. "Layover is the one tune of Hedges I bothered to learn, so I know what's involved.

Thanks! Yes, this one is trickier than it sounds. Let too many notes ring into each other and it sounds like a mess, so this piece is great for learning to execute timely mutes with both the left and right hands. Lots of fun to play!

Thank you! The guitar is just a spruce/hog Martin 000-1 from 2000, an original one with solid back and neck and 25.5" OM scale length. I made a bone saddle and nut for it, installed a soundport and modified the braces a bit, among other things over the years. It does have a very clear sound and it plays really well so it's good for dense pieces like this. It's the only acoustic I own so I try and get the best out of it! I really like it.
