Default My Emerald X20 has arrived

So today we have the remnants of Hurricane Irma pounding our area. In the middle of all that the mail lady brought the big box that I have been waiting for...my new X20.

First impressions:
1. The guitar arrived in tune...amazing.
2. It looks flawless.
3. Neck shape was a primary concern of mine, since I really like the neck on my Taylor. The transition was effortless.
4. The action is set low and fast...perfect.
5. The fretboard width at the top is 1.75 inches, or about 1/16 wider that my Taylor. Again no transition problem.
6. The tone across all the strings and up and down the fretboard is good.
7. The Baggs pickup works well through my Fishman Loudbox Mini.
8. The Hiscox case looks good and strong, also.

So, I am a happy camper. Thanks to the Emerald people for making such a fine guitar. I told Sean in an email that based on its arrival day, I am thinking of naming it, "Storm."

In truth, this is a much better guitar, than I am a player. I will strive to live up to it.

Of course, you are now obligated to learn "Stormy Weather". "Stormy Monday", and "Riders on the Storm" to play on this nicknamed guitar. It must have its own theme music....

Congrats!

Congratulations! The X20 is a delightful guitar! Nice that there were no shipping delays due to weather... not that the guitar would have minded the - well, you know.

After more getting acquainted time, feel free to give us further impressions. And (as already stated), photos.

I love that song, also being a motorcycle rider. I did not have the time beforehand to learn the real finger style version, and did not have the guts to play my strummed standard tuning version for David Wilcox when I met him at guitar camp a number of years ago. (He is such a nice guy that I'm sure he would not have been offended by my amateurish efforts).

Looks like we have now assigned plenty of homework to Zeeway and his new X20.
