Default SOLD - 2012 Martin Madagascar/Alpine Custom Shop OM-28

***FINAL PRICE REDUCTION***

Very hard to find Martin Madagascar/Alpine Custom OM-28 Acoustic Guitar in absolutely beautiful condition! I was only able to find two insignificant blemishes and could not even capture them on camera. These amount to very small, light surface scratches that could likely be buffed out if they are a bother. But just to see them requires just the right angle, with just the right light, truly insignificant.

I purchased this guitar on this forum about 3-years ago and it has spent almost all the time in the case, in my smoke free, humidity controlled home. I have spent all of my time playing electric guitars so I have rarely played this one, hence the reason that I am selling. Priced to sell at $3,600 (Shipping within the continental USA included). No trades, please – thank you! Incidentally, I have sold several guitars and amps on this site as well as TGP and many more on eBay as Terabytes_99, all with satisfied customers.

I have never been able to figure out how to post pictures to this forum so here is a link to the same:

It is the best sounding Martin that I have ever heard and plays wonderfully. This guitar has a beautiful sustain and truly sings like a violin. It features a solid Alpine spruce top. Alpine spruce is the same tonewood that has graced the tops of some of the world's most legendary violins.

The magnificent Madagascar rosewood back and sides looks a whole lot like the kind of Brazilian rosewood that made Brazilian rosewood the stuff of choice a hundred years ago. This custom OM-28 with Golden Era (1930’s) appointments is well balanced with a warm, clear, sweet tone that's ideal for fingerstyle guitar, loud and focused strummer or flatpicking machine.

Features a modified V Mahogany neck (IMHO Soft V) with 30’s style heel and adjustable truss rod, grained ivoroid binding, heelcap and endpiece, fine herringbone top purfling, Abalone diamond and squares short pattern Golden Era style fretboard inlay, style 28 multi-ring rosette, Maple/ black fiber back and endpiece inlay, Fossilized Ivory nut, vintage style long saddle and bridge pins, HD zig-zag backstrip, Gotoh open-geared nickel tuners with butterbean knobs, authentic stamp on back of headstock, Delmar tortoise beveled and polished pickguard, 1 3/4″ nut width, 25.4″ scale length and 2 3/8″ saddle spacing.

Includes L.L. Braggs ANTHEM Pickup system, which truly delivers the warmth and fidelity of a studio-mic’d guitar when this guitar is plugged in!

Is there any point in mentioning them if you're not going to bother to elaborate on what they are?

I was simply attempting to be completely transparent but you make a fair point so I have updated the description to include the following, "These amount to very small, light surface scratches that could likely be buffed out if they are a bother. But just to see them requires just the right angle, with just the right light, truly insignificant."

Thanks for your input and interest.

If the John Renbourn model is any indication, this is an absolutely magical wood combination.

Indeed! I don't know if it is the wood combination, which is certainly a contributing factor, but the guitar sings so sweet! The chime and sustain it has is absolutely piano like. I thought I would keep this one for life but alas life had a different plan for me...

Thank you for your acknowledgement!
