Great guitar! I love the mid-ranginess of mine.
Outstanding playability, comfortable size, and with the Martin Lifespan 12-54 PB (MSP7100) it has killer tone...Plus, that smell...OH, THAT SMELL!

I prefer mine over my HD-28.

Would be glad to have your opinion, as I know this guitar is almost a legend for many of you
I was going to say something along the lines of, to each their own etc., but as someone who owns both the 000-15sm and the GS Mini, I say, yes, I think there IS something wrong with your ears.

I think it just depends on what kind of sound you are looking for. If you prefer a brighter, louder, and more defined sound, the Martin 15's may not be for you.

I fell in love with the warm, mellow, pure, and woody depth of the 000-15m a couple years ago, and my ears seem to prefer my Martin OM-15 custom more than any other guitar I have played. It is extremely comfortable to play and is a great accompaniment to vocals, and performs well for finger picking and light strumming, which suits my playing style perfectly. And there are not many better looking guitar finishes around IMO

I had one of Ted's OM-15 Customs. Sold it...missed it...bought another one. It's not one I play everyday but it has a special kind of mojo for me? I have one cedar top guitar and the rest are different spruces. But one all mahogany guitar suits me. I never tried the standard Martin 000-15M? I have to believe the 12 fret slothead 15 has an interesting voice? I guess they aren't for everyone...not much is?

I did not love mine... I offed it because it had a narrow nut. Mine was one of the earliest with flamed genuine mahogany top, backs, and sides...
very dark rosewood bits. Sounded ok.. tough to play with NNS ( narrow nut syndrome)

I preferred my 1939 00-17 and my 1959 Guild M-20.

I don't love it.

But then, I've never played it, either...

Hog tops don't have the punch of a spruce top, so you either like it or you don't ......or you like each for different kinds of music, which is where I am. Isn't the triple-naught 16 the spruce top for the same price? Buy that if you don't like mahogany.

Yes it's something like that, but I'm happy with my sitka top and mahogany B and S Furch, no need for a 00016GT, my next guitar will be a maple back and sides if I find one which sounds good, or a sitka/rosewood, or maybe sitka/sapele, and I love mahogany top on many guitars, just not the 00015, too midranged for me as said before, not enough bass, but I respect that many love it.

Maybe all hog guitars aren't your cup of tea. Strong midrange is one of its characteristics. Why would you think it would have a lot of bass?

I have a 00015M and I like it, but it gets much less playing time than my other guitars, so much so that I may end up selling it. I just haven't figured out where to use it -- playing with others it gets a little lost, and as a vocal accompaniment it's kinda boxy. Great for fingerstyle and blues, but I don't play as much of either as I thought I would when I bought it.

I usually don't like rosewood overwhelming bass, but most of the mahogany back and sides guitars I have played had enough bass for me, a warm, woody and rather balanced sound, I love mahogany in facts, and I loved some guitars with mahogany top, I have nothing against that
