My Yam FG700S already is mahogany back and sides . . .

Not quite sure what the top is made of.

At the risk of sounding like an idiot... what is a Hog-top? I have visions of a porker squealing bad harmonics with the vibration of the strings.

Wow, this is all-solid hog. I had to re-read the product page because I didn't believe it at first. I couldn't find any big-name stores that readily carry this brand.

I'd love to play one, although I have to admit that everytime I hear the brand name "Cort", I can only think of fazool's comment in this thread:

Compared to all the other manufacturers, Cort looked like a dump and they were just slapping pieces together. Just watch the videos to see a huge difference.

Haha, no risk here Kip...I definitely had the same question a while ago when I first joined AGF. "Hog" refers to maHOGany.

Well, don't let one man's opinion sway you that much. I've read very positive things from owners of Cort guitars, time and time again. Also, as a classically trained CNC machinist for the last two decades and General Manager of a shop that has customers worldwide, I did not see anything wrong with that Cort factory video. It looked like to me that they have a very smoothly run operation with a unique approach to making guitars and it works. I would respectfully disagree with fazool's comments regarding the factory tour in general.

Thanks Wasper, I agree with you. That's why I started my statement with "I'd love to try one...". I'm hoping there will be a bunch to try when I travel stateside next month.
