Wayne Henderson comes to mind. Not sure if he's young enough for what you're asking, but he's definitely a generation or so behind Doc, Chet, etc.

Architype

"Look at the OP's list...not exactly exclusive to fingerpickers. "

His thread is titled... " modern country-ish fingerpickers".

Hence my post.....
"Ike Everly and Eddie Pennington are "thumb pickers" by their own description."

Actually take the time to read the list the OP provided you will see that Chet Adkins...one of the best Travis style, or, "Thumb pickers", if you prefer, players that ever lived...Oh yeah, then he actually list Merle Travis. Doc Watson, Townes, Tommy E. They can all thumb pick and finger pick

How thin do you want to split this hair?

Is "Thumb picking not fingerpicking?

What is your point? Other than to just be trolling.

"Actually take the time to read the list the OP provided you will see that Chet Adkins...one of the best Travis style"

First.. it is Chet A "T" kins not A "D" kins

Second,, Chet Atkins did not play Travis style..

Travis style in its pure form is thumb and index.
Let's be generous and extend this to thumb and index and middle.

Travis style was an indiscriminate thumb alternation strictly for rhythm.

Chet Atkins moved it up a notch and played "specific" notes with the thumb and became an articulated thumb picker.. not a Travis picker.

This is not picking the fly specs out of the pepper but giving a clear description and definition of Travis's style and Chet Atkins.

May I recommend some research.

actually I said Merkel Travis merles Russian cousin.... Lol gotta love what the phone actually accepts.

Again modern countryish finger pickers (or thumb pickers or Travis pickers or big toe pickers) my point for clarity is that I'm looking for guys from the last decade or two that are carrying on the tradition now. Let's keep the gloves on guys.

Someone surely has recommended Doyle Dykes.
There is a video of him and his son Caleb, that blew me away.

Another one that many people haven't heard of...yet...is a young man named Mark Kroos.
He does many things, but the absolute killer for me is his take on Dueling Bsnjos

I'm sure if Chet ATkins were still alive he could Travis pick circles around anyone on this Forum if he wanted to.

You may have the last word, but it will probably be difficult to type, or pick, with your THUMB stuck up....oh nevermind

Default flat/finger pickers

I didn't notice Wayne Henderson's name on a list. My apologies if I overlooked a contribution, and if not, he's sure worth a listen.

So is there anyone I should be listening to it would be nice to expand my catalog.
Doyle Dykes and Tom Bresch
