Default Guitalele Yamaha G-l1

Got a new practice instrument! The guitalele made by Yamaha. It really ups my practice and plays great! Tuned a-a it like a capo on the 5th fret.

I tried one out a few days ago -- I wasn't immediately in love, but it's intriguing. The one I played had some fret buzz issues, but it was strung with some moldy oldy guitar store strings.

I'd like to try the Cordoba GP100 guilele as well to compare.

If I could play one like this, I'd buy one:

I've seen them at GC, but never tried one. Maybe I'll have to give one a spin.

Hey Bob! How's it going?

Here's a good video: http://youtu.be/erLNdSZk_R4 Corey's a nice guy, and I've purchased a couple of ukuleles from the shop he works for.

I think I've decided that the Guitalele is just a bit too small for me to really enjoy, so it's off the list. I'm considering maybe a Cordoba Requinto 580 or possibly the Cordoba Cadete (615). Closer to a full size classical but still a smaller body and shorter scale for ease of playing.

It that you, Frank? From Outside Philly, but not far enough? It's been a while, but it's great to run into you here! This thread caught my eye because I'm playing all short-scale guitars now—and all by Kenny Hill (Performance 630 DT, Master Series Rodriguez 640 and Player 615). Love them, especially since they're easier on my ailing mitts. I may have to try one of these guileles. I hope all is well with you.
-Bob

P.S. Sorry for the double post above, everyone. Don't know how I managed it.

Hi Bob,
It's me! Riffmeister joined a few weeks ago, so that makes three of us from the Classical Corner. There might be more, just using different names.

I never made it to GC today, so didn't try a guitalele. I did tell my nephew that we could lift the back of his VW of the ground, and now my left forearm is on fire! I'm getting older, but not much smarter. It took me a year to rehab both forearms, and I was stuck playing ukuleles. I think all that work was just undone for a laugh.....
