Sold - Beardsell 2G Redwood / Indian Rosewood - $
.
Up for sale is another beauty - it’s hard to describe the mastery behind this guitar, if you have played a Beardsell you know what I am talking about, if you have not you should try to obtain one before you die. Beardsell is a true innovator in the world of hand-built guitars, and has created unique guitar that provides an absolutely immersive experience and will tempt you to play for hours on end. The laskin-style armrest coupled with Beardsell’s ergonomic neck makes this the most comfortable guitar I’ve ever held. The top is redwood with a bold red finish. The sides are reinforced with birdseye maple to enhance power and projection. This one is incredibly responsive with a warm, crispy and yet full and balanced sound. The bracing inside is just as impressive and innovative as the details outside. There are numerous recordings from Dream Guitars and others which I would encourage you to peruse to get a sense of the tone. I can send tone samples via email if you would like. Here’s a nearly identical model on Dream Guitars from the same year as mine, the only difference being the Sitka top - https://www.dreamguitars.com/shop/beardsell-2g.html This guitar was built in 2006 and has suffered some slight damage since then. The most notable is a hairline crack running along the grain of the rosewood in the back of the guitar. It is difficult to see, and in the hands of an experienced repairman this could be fixed to be nearly, if not entirely invisible. I have not repaired it as it did not bother me and a luthier recommended to just leave it. Other issues are some fingerpick wear under the soundhole, and some dings in the lower bout which subtly but slightly fractured the finish and wood. 1 ¾” nut width, 2 ¼” saddle. Here’s what Mandolin Brothers had to say about these guitars: The sound of this instrument is exquisite beyond words – crispy yet warm, full, woody and wonderful in every auditory way.** We have discovered something important here – a North American builder who is re-setting the scale for what is possible in the world of high-end luthiery.* We are enthralled with every aspect of its outstanding originality, panache and refinement.* From what I have seen, these guitars rarely come up for sale used, and when they do they run in the $5000-6500 range with similar features. Because of the hairline crack on the back and the dings, I am offering this one for $3800 shipped and paypalled to AGF members. Will consider trade value around $4000 or trades + cash. Comes with TKL hardshell case that fits it like a glove. Last edited by tjvh27; 05-15-2018 at 07:22 AM. |
