Default Taylor pre-amp vibration

Have a Taylor 322ce 12-fret. When I hit the D string open the pre amp seems to be vibrating ever so slightly creating a noise. Its not enough for anyone to really hear but enough to drive me insane. Any thoughts?

Preamp or battery door? Certain strings/notes on my T5 caused a vibration that drove me nuts when I played without amplification. I discovered it was the battery door when there is no battery installed. The fix is to either install a battery even if I'm not playing amplified, or just put a small piece of tape over the door.

The battery door did get me as well! Unfortunately this time it is not the issue. It is much more subtle and you can really isolate the noise to the preamp area.

Did you buy it new? If so, bring it to a tech for warranty work. Maybe it's a wire? Not sure the circuit board would actually have anything on it to buzz/vibrate.

Could it be what I term the "D- and G-string, string-ping/sitar-thing" going on? These two strings seem to be the most vulnerable to causing a tinny-like overtone when struck, especially with a flatpick. This effect can usually be eliminated by adjustments to the nut and saddle.
