Default Loose neck on acoustic w/truss rod

Question;

To avoid a neck reset (action on old guitar good, top caved in a bit, due to dryness) will a truss rod adjustment bring the neck back to the body at all?

No. A truss rod only adjusts the amount of curve, aka "relief," in the neck. A neckset is about altering the fundamental geometry of the neck-body attachment.

A truss rod adjustment is not the correct way to raise or lower your action, but it will certainly do so. Using it to raise action usually results in excess relief, making the neck harder to play in the middle, using it to lower the action may result in backbow of the neck which will cause fret buzzing. What is the guitar make model and year?

The guitar in question is an old Espana. The neck is separating from body a bit, but the action is pretty good. I thought some adjustment to the truss rod and some serious humidity would help the separation at the heel. I haven't purchased it - considering it, as a project.

If the action is good and the guitar is stable, you don't need to do anything.

You do know you can edit the title to read correctly ?

Go to first Post click EDIT and then click ADVANCED. You will see the misspelled thread title and you can correct it.

I will then delete this post , since I will know that you are not a looser ...

Always that way here on the forum, in my experience!

Hibs or Hearts? Or neither?!
