Default Taming the Fishman quack on Rainsongs

folks on the Rainsongs they mostly have the already built in Fishman pickup/preamp
Sounds OK , not stellar

Any of you add anything to the signal chain to smooth the piezo tone out ??

Thanks

Fishman Aura Jumbo images, worked well. I have a old Aura Jumbo pedal I would use.

Yes, and my signal chain is really simple.

I play my Rainsongs directly through an acoustic amp with no pedals. I use a Boss Katana 100 1x12 SS amp, which has a very good acoustic guitar pre-amp section built-in. The amp's onboard controls give me everything I need to get the sound I want.

Also you might try different strings. From prior posts on this forum, a consensus emerged among CF owners that string choice can make a big difference in sound. I gravitated to Martin Monel Retro lights ... mellow, easy bends, and they do me right.

I played a Rainsong Hybrid dread (that I bought from Ted) with the Fishman Prefix for about 5 years every weekend. Ran it through an Aura 16 pedal into a DI and into the snake. I downloaded the "carbon" models from fishman. It always sounded excellent. I do have to say that I like my Baggs Anthem through a Session DI setup that I have now on my Taylor better.

Fishman Aura, Zoom A3, TC Body Rez or Play Acoustic, Boss VE 8. Basically anything with para-EQ, compressor, filters, etc. I like the boxes above because they are easy to use. I have the Zoom A3 on order to put in my gig case. There are other more complex products with distinct controls for each feature. I tend to think the signal engineers who designed the package products above are better at predicting what most of us need in single pickup installations. So, no need for me to spend all day tweaking.

Installed a K&K under the bridge, disconnected the Fishman piezo element from the preamp, and hooked the K&K into the Fishman preamp. Didn't expect it to work very well but it's pretty good. Easy to revert if necessary.

Very much the same, here. My OM100 has no onboard preamp, just K&K straight to the jack. Best way to get rid of UST quack: remove UST!

The guitar I'm playing on my Soundcloud tune is the Rainy, tuned BEADF#B, with medium strings; since then, I've been stringing it w/real bari strings, .016-.070. Recorded w/mic, maybe some of the transducers mixed in.

Does the Fishman jack used by Rainsong have stereo output capabilities? Output for two pickups? Just curious. To me using fishman aura just is the easy fix, use what's in the guitar to its fullest. Aura is good enough for Jason Isbell, come on!
