Dobro Model 60 and model 60D-S
1992 and 1989 respectively. What is the difference?

Apparently it is a mystery wrapped in an enigma on rye with hot mustard and onions.

Nope. Was going to stop in a for a look at both this afternoon. I wanted to know if there a difference worth $150 between the two.

What did the difference turn out to be? The only thing I could find was the DS seemed to have a slotted headstock with up-facing tuner buttons while the 60 had a solid headstock.

Both are slot heads. The other difference that I could find was that the 1992 had a sunburst on the top, back, sides, neck at headstock, while the 89 only had a burst on the top. Probably going back today and may buy the one that sounds better.
