Taylor Expression 2 Coming Soon

I've got a new Taylor coming with the Ex2 system. My current set up is a
guitar with a K&K PWM going into a K&K Pure XLR Pre-Amp into a Fishman
Loudbox Mini. This is in a home studio so massive volume isn't needed.
So now I'll have a guitar with a built in pre-amp, volume & tone controls going
into another pre-amp with gain, volume, treble, mid & bass controls going into
an amp with all of it's controls. I'm clueless as to where to start with all of these
setting variables. I have enough of a problem with adjustments currently between the pre-amp and amp. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'd suggest you start with all the tone controls set to 12:00, set the guitar volume in the middle as well as the amp volume. Turn up the gain on the amp for the guitar until it's a pleasing volume, if you hear any distortion then back off the guitar volume until it cleans up. Then I would adjust the amp tone controls until you find what you like.

I have what you do except ultrasound ds4 and 2nd akafloyds response. ES2 doesnt really need the Pure pre.

+1 to all the above! IMHO, the Taylor ES2 is the best factory-installed pickup/preamp system around. It's easy to use and setup--What Setup?!--and sounds superb. TIP: Two names to remember: Taylor ES2 and Trance Audio (for aftermarket installs).

ES2 set flat into the amp. Dial in your sound with the amp. Make on-the-fly adjustments with your ES2. If you are using the preamp as a driver for other gear then determine what does the best job in terms of dialing in the tone you want. Your amp and preamp will no doubt have a little different frequency points for the BAss/Mid/Treble controls. Decide which to use then set the other flat.
