Default Inexpensive Short-Scale Nylon-strung Crossover Guitar?

Looking for an inexpensive short-scale nylon-strung crossover guitar. Is there such a beast?

An ideal would be 00 body size, 24-3/4” scale, radiused fretboard, 1-7/8”nut, 2-3/8” string spacing at the bridge, all laminate guitar.

I’m looking for something fairly inexpensive (under $500 ) that I can leave out in low (10-20%) humidity. Needs to be inexpensive enough that I won’t worry too much about it exploding! 

My other guitars are carbon-fiber, and don’t care about the humidity. Unfortunately, any CF nylon crossover guitars are way too expensive for me to consider. (The Rainsong P12N is closest, but has a parlor body and tighter string spacing)

Why the need for a short scale? A nylon guitar is going to play at much lower tension than a steel string anyway.

Thanks, yes, something like this. Unfortunately, it's a parlor size, and has a flat fretboard. It's really hard to find a crossover like this. I'm pretty sure they don't exist other than a customized build, but thought I'd ask to see if anyone knew of something I hadn't found.

Shoulder problems with arm extension. 12 fret short scale, a neck-up, and classical playing position makes pain-free playing possible. The reduced string tension is a bonus too, with the arthritis in my hands.

Yamaha makes a nice one. Regular scale nylon string, narrower nut, electronics, cutaway. Well made. Solid wood on top only. I'm selling one for my son. Will get model number to you. If you want to know.

In addition to the 3/4 size instrument shown....
I have recently purchased one of Cordoba's "mini" instruments, the SM--CE model. This has a 20 inch scale, a crossover-sized fretboard, a cutaway, solid top, and a pickup.

It's extremely easy to play, feels pretty much like a "guitar" and I have no trouble fingering jazz chords on the little guy.

In fact, I've hardly played anything else for the past several months. Oh, you can get a set of strings that allow standard tuning as well....

Default I've made my decision

Thanks everyone for your input! It is much appreciated.

Since there are no inexpensive wooden short scale crossovers I have found, I will go with a carbon fiber one. This guitar is fairly close to my ideal nylon specs.

I just ordered a nylon RainSong parlor. Model CH-PA1000NSK, one of the new CH series released at NAMM that are very cost effective. I ordered mine with the K&K pickup. Now I just have to wait 6 weeks or so for delivery.

Thanks to Helene and Ted at LA Guitar Sales! This is the second Carbon Fiber guitar I've purchased from them. They are SO pleasant and helpful.

Update: I ended up with a steel string guitar, not the nylon string I ordered. LA Guitar Sales had me pay return shipping, and removed their shipping cost to me from the refund on my credit card. After a week without the refund, I had to call to get them to do it. They were great to deal with until there was an issue. Then not so much.

Hi the Yamaha NTX700 would be a great contender brilliant guitars . I have the NTX1200R but the 700 has the same preamp. Finally the Yamaha SLG200N would also be a great guitar with brilliant portability

I have a Cordoba Fusion 12. Its an OM size, very comfortable to play. Fretboard is 1 3/4, slight radius, cutaway with built in p/u system. Not the cheapest but not over the top expensive. I looked around for a very long time before purchasing this guitar and anything below the 4-500 dollar range needed lots of help to be playable. You can get a Yamaha FG-730 steel string for under 300 and it works great. That price range in nylon gets you nothing worth having, IMHO.

The Cordoba C5 Dolce sounds like it might be a good choice. It has a 630mm scale and the neck is just shy of 2". Basically a scaled down C5. Under 300 new.

Hi, Crossovers like the one you want are not hard to find. Perfect mid priced
is the Alvarez AC65HCE with cedar top and mahogany sides., 1 7/8 nut width
and radiused fingerboard. Great electronics, cutaway and is priced at 419.00
new and guitar center has a used one for 269.00 in excellent condition. Take a
look at it as it seems to meet your needs for nylon strings. Regards
Norman2

I've owned the Yamaha and Cordoba guitars mentioned in the thread, and they both are very easy players. The Yamaha was quieter/mellower and I preferred the tone of the Cordoba. They are both very comfortable to play which appears to be important to you with your injury.

This Fender would not be a bad compromise. I don't know if the fretboard has any radius but the scale is a bit shorter than standard, the nut width is narrower and the body size is slightly smaller. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/CN140S
