My longest owned acoustic is an Alvarez 5014 that I bought with my summer job earnings in 1977.

The electric I've owned the longest is my 1972 Les Paul Custom Black Beauty. That was purchased used in 1974. My oldest son currently has it, but it's still in the family.

Default Owned the longest

Framus Texan Acoustic(blonde), bought new with pop bottle deposit money in 1967. Rode home from the store with it tied to the handle bars of my bicycle. A case probably would have been a good idea.......

My 2001 ‘72 reissue Fender Telecaster Thinline. I bought it in 2006, so I guess we are going on 11 years now. I am 23 years old, so for me, it’s been with me almost have my life!

My longest-owned guitar is a '72 Yamaha FG-75 that I got in '74 for $30. It needs a neck reset, so it doesn't get played. It did some traveling with me back then, was even stolen in Seoul once.

Gibson LG-0, bought in 1965. Needs a reset, so not much use out of it as late.

The guitar I've owned the longest is a Teisco Checkmate sunburst with twin gigantic pickguards. I didn't buy it...it was handed down to me by the family of a late uncle who dabbled in guitar. I don't even remember how long I've had it.
I almost never play it but I keep it strung and cared for. I'll probably hand it off someday to someone who would like to learn.

Of the guitars I actually purchased myself, my '02 Seagull M6 Spruce has been with me the longest. It's still my favorite guitar to play and I can't imagine getting rid of it.

My 1972 USA Ovation Model 1111-1 Balladeer, that I purchased new in March 1973, when I came back from Vietnam. It still plays like new, although it has a few repaired age cracks. We've been through a lot together.

Some people have Service Animals......I have a Service Guitar.....

For years I had only 2 guitars. An acoustic and an electric. I bought a Montana acoustic electric in the mid 90s and had it till about 2010. It wasn't great. But it served the purpose as a backup when I played mainly electric.
