Default Red Carpet Rag (Unknown)

Hi guys,

here's my latest recording. Red Carpet Rag on a Martin 000-18MC in Drop D tuning capo 2. From an arrangement by David Laibman.

Unfortunately the performance is pretty much garbage compared to the quality stuff around here but I needed to record this and move on with life. Obviously I'm just not cut out for these arrangements of classic piano rags. With this mess now posted I'll be taking a break from recording. Thanks for listening guys.

Hi Doug,

This does sound like a complex piece of music. Playing piano on the guitar is no easy thing.

I thought this came out sounding quite good, Doug!

Thanks for all your efforts!

Don't downplay yourself, Doug!

I've listened to most of the stuff you posted. And I thought all of them were really nice.

This one is a little bit to difficult at the moment, but atleast you got something to work on now! :P

Sounds like you've progressed pretty far along. You can play through the entire piece which is a major accomplishment. As a suggestion, play it even more slowly with a metronome, gradually increasing the speed. Practice it in parts, working on the rough spots, especially the transitions between sections. Identify the problem areas and practice them as often as time allows. By breaking it up into smaller parts, you won't get burnt out mentally or physically. Keep at it. You've got a winner!

Not garbage at all! sounds far more complex than anything I could play and far longer than anything I could remember. I enjoyed it and look forward to hearing your more polished version in the not too distant future!

I just saw this.

This is tough stuff to play Doug, keep posting music. It's all part of the journey. You did a good job with it.
