May be time to get the hearing checked Scootch!

I'm a Rosewood guy, but the Eastman E10D and Martin D18 are great. Also, the Guitar Center MMV D (I think that's the model) made by Martin is no slouch for around $1500. Have fun!

Martin D-28 used... 'Nuff said.

If you like the Martin sound then you picked a good one. Should compliment your OM-21 quite well.
I would say that you have all of the bases covered.

Glad you found something you like. Enjoy!!

That doesn't sound out of line to me. Especially if it is in as you say excellent condition and that includes shipping. I assume the case included as well.

I have a Bourgeois Country Boy with Adirondack top that I would sell for a bit below your budget. Absolute fantastic guitar, well above and beyond anything mentioned in this thread yet IMO.

The low price is due to damage done to the back during shipping, now fully repaired and completely structurally sound. Love this guitar but I really don't play dreads anymore and it's a shame this one sits in it's case. PM if interested.

I have an E10D that has become a really great guitar. Dread, Adirondack/Mahogany, ebony fretboard, Gotoh tuning machines, bone nut & bridge... In my opinion (and many others more experienced than I) the E10D is equivalent to the Martin D-18GE. Bang for the buck, I don't think there is anything better.

If you just need to spend that whole $1,700 you can't go wrong with a D-18... love that Martin on the headstock.

Cool I have $1700 for a Dread...need help!

That's what I paid for my Martin D-35 bearclaw, with electronics. Right time, right place, right price! Not for sale...Best sounding guitar I own! The previous owner didn't care for bearclaw tops, and gave me a super deal!

Nope. But every time I see a !!!! I make it a point to look at the post because a member might truly be in need. Maybe some potential damage to a guitar or a gig about to happen and they need some important information. "Please help!!!" should be reserved for at least some kind of important emergency so we don't waste out time. Don't you think that would be more polite?

I would agree that the sound your looking for should dictate the guitar you buy. If you don't need or care for the Martin sound, don't waste your time on Martin dreds. One of the cooler sounding dreadnaughts I've played turned out to be a Breedlove. I was just trying out guitars of that brand and was looking at the headstock more than the guitar shape and didn't realize it was a dred until I played it awhile.

Don't get caught up in the brand. Pay attention to the tone instead.
