Default A Little Introduction

My name is Chris Ensor. I have been hanging around here for a while without posting. I have been pretty active over at the Luthier's Forum but been pretty quiet here. I have been seeing some great work around here.

Anyways, here are some examples of my work:

Parlor:

Concert:

Auditorium:

Those are some very nice designs! I love 'em! I like the natural look of the wood accents and the very organic looking pinless bridge design.

Default Bridge pins

Chris,

I was just wondering why you do not use bridge pins. What are the pros, and cons
that you see in the two designs?

Really beautiful stuff, Chris! Do you have specific sizes, or will you pretty much make any size?

I have never liked messing with bridge pins and I like the sleek look of a pinless bridge. The only down side I have found is that you have to completely destring the guitar to do any adjusting to the saddle. But that's a problem only for the luthier and not the player.

I have my personal shapes that I build (parlor, concert, auditorium), but I build other shapes upon request. I will even build non-traditional custom shapes if the customer really wants it.

Chris, welcome to AGF. Very nice guitars.

Could you post some specs on these guitars? Maybe my eyes are playing tricks but that parlor is very different. And on some of your guitars it looks like you have the strap button near the 13th fret 1st string. Can you comment on that choice?

Again, very nice looking guitars.

I have put the strap button there on a few guitars. I find it is a nice, beefy place in the heel to drill into. I have a rather small heel shape, so I don't usually put the strap button there. But, as with most things on my guitars, I don't limit where I will put the strap button. If some wants it somewhere else, that's not a problem.

Hey Chris - Welcome to the AGF! Those are some amazing guitars. I love that Parlor!!!

I just checked out your website (Ensor Guitars - I'm assuming this is you?). Very nice. Does Vince Gill really have one of your guitars?

Yep that's me. And yes, Vince Gill does have one of my guitars. I used to live in Nashville, TN. He has to be one of the most down-to-earth guys around. Great to work with.
