Holiday song book
Yes, its that time again, lol. Any one know of a Holiday finger style book that most of the arrangements are one or two pages only? I have a couple of Mark Hansons' books btw (3+ pages) . Any level would be ok, thanks.

My DADGAD Christmas book is designed specifically to have arrangements you can sight-read with no page turns.

Christmas Fingerstyle Guitar - Plain & Fancy by Bruce Emery. Available from Elderly Instruments. All songs presented in three levels, beginner to advanced.
I've used some of Bruce's other books and will probably pick this one up as well. You can probably get more info from his website. Cheers, Ed |

+ 1 on the Bruce Emery books. He also has a strum - along Christmas songbook for those who don't play fingerstyle.
Find all of his books here http://www.skepticalguitarist.com/ |

Excellent suggestion. I bought and just received both of Bruce Emery's Christmas books from Elderly (one for fingerstyle, one for strumming) and already love them. Thanks for the tip!

I actually really like the 3 skill level arrangements for each song. Allows me to decide whether to more slowly learn a more complex arrangement, or go broad and get functional with a number of songs quickly. I'm now (for the first time ever) ahead of the curve for Christmas this year!

I have a Christmas fingerstyle book available HERE.
While the two following tunes are NOT in the book, they demonstrate my playing. The tunes in the book are for solo acoustic and the tunes below are arranged to accompany a singer. I will have a 2nd addition to the book coming out later this year with enhanced arrangements. I'm recording a CD of these tunes and have done quite a bit of work on expanding the arrangements. I'll also be having a How-To instructional DVD available that will walk you thru playing these tunes. You can subscribe to my newsletter HERE to get notified when these are available. |

Itis chock full of arrangements and really does have three levels of each. Also, there are nice intro chapters on music theory and fingerstyle techniques. No fluff, no puffery, just right-to-business good writing.
