Default Bridge lifting off - process to repair

Hi All,

I have a J45 from 2018 where the corner of the bridge (top corner furthest away from sound hole) is lifting up. I can easily slip an index card about 1/2 in on the side and 3/4 in on the long way.

I'm taking it in to get repaired - but was just wondering the process. Can they just heat up the bridge and glue it down again, or do they remove it entirely. If it's curled up enough do they have to replace it? This is just out of curiosity, but any input is appreciated.

Rgds - Bill

Generally, heat bridge to release glue, remove bridge with pallet knife etc, remove old glue from guitar and bridge, re-fit bridge to top radius if required, Re-attach bridge.

Some J-45s had bolts under those pearl dots, not sure if they still do that but they would need addressed if so.

Sometimes a really loose one like that just pops off with a light whack with a wide chisel around the perimeter. Modern J-45's don't use bolts anymore.

Default a thought

Try to find a repair tech who will do right what the factory did wrong. The repair process will come out of the inspection of the instrument and a tech<>owner conversation.
