Default Replacing resonator nut and cone

I just got a metal resonator (Dean Heirloom) last night.

So, what can anyone tell me about:
1. replacing the nut, and
2. cone replacement.

I'll may do both at some point in time, although not soon. I guess what I'm asking is how do I know if such an upgrade is warranted, e.g., tell-tale signs.
