Default Rockstar by Nickelback Chords

Can you guys look and tell what chords he is using here for this acoustic version? UG says it's A D G C F , but it's some barring going on looks like and I haven't learned those yet.
Thanks

Nah, thats not it at all. I guess those chords are for the normal Version. You can see in the Video that he plays in g.

Look for the UG Version thats in G (with Five stars) i think it might have it right.

Looking through the video, this chord analysis seems to fit, somewhat. Might get back to it tonight, it's a good song.

Yup, close, but, I fear, no cigar ... there's a barred chord that looks more like D#m than D# (3.08, 3.47).
Oh dear, now I know what I'll be doing tonight ...

You can see at 3:08 the 2 guitarists are playing at different positions on the neck. so perhaps it is 2 versions of D#.

I think chad is playing with a A# bass note on top of the D# power chord.

kinda like this:

If "Chad" is the front man, I agree, as he is putting a barre over first fret. The side kick, simultaneously, barres the 6th freth which mean he has the D# on 5th string, so very very likely.

Definitely in G.
I'd say this is pretty close.

Okay I requested before my lesson last night that my instructor determine these chords per the video and all info available. Here is what he came up with:

Verse
G Cadd9 F G

Pre Chorus
Bb5 C5

Chorus
G Bb5 C F

It sounds good when he plays it but I've got a ways to go. Bb5 is barred and can can be slid down to the C5 adding the hi E string.

I now have a new favorite chord in Cadd9, also used in the Poison song Every rose has it's thorn.

Thanks for the feedback and let me know what you think of his view of the chords.

Sorry if I seem obtuse, but, Bb5? Exactly what is implied? The 5th of Bb is F, and unless you do something with augmented or diminished fifth, it would always be there?

Yea. I think Bb5 is just a Bb power chord? Bb + F, no?

Yeah I think the jury is still out on this one. I am still researching and here is a better video that you can view Chad's fretting:

Thats just typical nickelback stuff. Those two are Eb5 and F5.

i dont use them anymore but i used to in my band. Only when we covered nickelback songs.
I dont think they sound good on an acoustic guitar.....but yeah...nickelback Utilizes almost exclusively power chords.

X1134X is Eb5 and X3356X is F5.

On their albums they often play in drop d, because then they can also play the low e-string. I mean d-string....whatever.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm putting this one to rest for now, my instructor and I agreed this was a little advanced for me right now.

My goal was wanting to know how the band played it, so my research here was a learning experience.
