Did you get it Hilts? Looking at the ad on Kijiji - looks like a nice one.

I owned an HD35 for quite a while, wish I hadn't sold it.
The D18 and D28 always get more attention, but the D35 can be a very powerful guitar that packs a punch.

How would you describe the sonic difference between a D-35 versus HD-28 or D-28?

My D-35 is like a D-28 with more bottom end.
An HD-28 will have more headroom, so it can be attacked heavier.

A D-35 can get lost in a big crowd of instruments.

In Ottawa as well. Last year I looked into buying a new D35 locally from one of the Martin dealers but ended up buying from MFG, one of this forums sponsors. For the price of a D35 locally, I got a D41 brand new fm Jon. His new price on a D35 should be in and around 2100 US (about 60% or so of suggested list price according to the Martin website) plus shipping which was 100 dollars from what I remember. Plus you'll get a new guitar with a warranty. Downside is you can't try it first....Dave

Assuming this is the same guitar on Ottawa Kijiji. Looks like he has decided to ignore all the price advice given here and has re-listed it at $3000 Cdn ($2500 US) instead of the previous $2500 Cdn ($2000 US).

I'm guessing he'll be owning this guitar for a while.

I was hoping to read some opinions from some D35 owners.
Previous D35 owner here. If you like the sound of a D35, they're cannons, then $2k is close, but I'd personally feel more comfortable paying $1800US for a used one. Not sure what else to say, it sounds to me like you're wanting this model and the only question now is price, so yeah, negotiate it.

Did you go try the guitar? Did you discuss price with him?

No I didn't. I got an unexpected $1,000 car repair bill last week.
