That's just one thread but there has been a lot of discussion about the Amulet M on AGF.

Check the thread mentioned above.

I use the Trance Audio M Dual Mono System and IMHO feel it's the best single-source system out there. It may seem expensive but when you figure the complete package and quality of what you're getting it's not any more expensive than other systems with the added cost of their likely need for add-on preamp/EQ devices.

The iMix is the Baggs iBeam + Element, so a soundboard transducer plus an undersaddle pickup. Interestingly, the iBeam was Baggs response to seeing the Trance system - their attempt to do something similar. But it turned out quite different in my opinion anyway. So the Trance is an SBT alone (sound board tranducuer), while the iMix blends 2 pickups. Which you would prefer mostly comes down to personal taste.

hi Doug; I play out at small restaurants and winieries. I do not play loud [just doc or chet style fingerpicking]. never tried either one. in your opinion ;do you think the Trance would be the better choice. I have nothing to compare.thank you!

It's really hard to say. Either should work. I personally don't care of the sound of most USTs, and the Element has a distinctive sound that I always zero in on, which bugs me. But that's just me. You might love it. I'd check out what others are using who play the same venues you play and see if there's someone who's sound you like, then see what they use (not just the pickup, but the whole signal chain). No guarantee you'll get the same sound, but it's a better starting point than someone's opinion on the internet.

I had the factory-installed iMix in a new 2008 Larrivee D-05e and, overall, with a blend of the Element UST and iBeam it could sound pretty good. The best tone I found from this setup was to turn the iBeam off in the mix and route the output from Element UST/onboard preamp through a Fishman Aura preamp to get a really nice tone. I even tried relocating the iBeam to try to get it to render a better tone but ended up putting it back in its factory-installed location and trading-in the guitar.

In case folks are wondering about my real experience involving my acoustic-electric postings, let me channel the subtitle of Slash's biography: It seems excessive ... but that doesn't mean it didn't happen.

a few friends of mine play thru the imix [is the ibeam a different thing ?] and I like their sound ; but I don't play like them. it seems the imix does not get a lot of love here.i'm not sure about it. I do have the "stage pro element " in my Larrivee.. it sounds a little quacky sometimes to my ear.i guess I'm trying to avoid another under saddle pickup.

The iBeam is one of the two pickup sources of the iMix system, the other being the Element UST (UnderSaddle) pickup. Regarding your StageProElement system, you could run its output through a Fishman Aura Pedal loaded with Aura Images of your guitar or something close and it WILL sound much better than the Element UST's tone does alone. How do I know this? Been there and done it.
