Default Halcyon Build 12 Fret Slope D!

Flamed walnut with lutz!

Well the time is drawing neigh and I wanted to share some pics of an instrument Ed is building for me!
This is a slope D 25.5 / 1/34
He has been great to work with, and has been super patient as I've made some choices, all while helping guide me with his experience. If you're considering a custom build I have to say Ed is great to work with.

I believe it is in the "painting" stage right now, so it won't be terribly long!
Check it out

Beautiful! It'll be nice to this one when it's done.

Beautiful wood there. I'm curious as to what sound you're going for, Gibson like or something else? What are your hopes for the sound?

This will become a great strummer. I love the the colourvariations of walnut, there are so many shades of brown, gold and yellow, reddish, purple and even green - it amazes me every time.

I'm hoping for a good balance that I can dictate as I play (seems like a cop out answer when I read it haha, but really... more nail less nail more flesh .... up to the neck or over the sound hole are factors).
I had it built with a wider neck for finger picking
Looking forward to getting it over to Ga

I agree... another luthier friend I was talking to over the friend was talking about how it is soooo overlooked as a tone wood, and is readily available and makes great instruments

Makes sense, each time I buy a guitar, I'm searching for the one thing that particular guitar does really well but when you find a guitar that does almost everything really well, then you have a true gem.
