Default Where do you get your morning news online?

I have TV for local news and they all have a website.
For years I have used CNN online for national and world news.
But their website has become almost unbearable with pop-ups and auto start videos.
I like to read news with pictures maybe, but having an unrelated video auto start is so annoying.

I use Flipnoard. https://flipboard.com

Totally configurable multi-source news aggregator. Really nice interface. IOS based, so doesn't work for everyone.

The CNN website has become awful, I agree. They do have CNN lite now, which is only text, and no annoying videos.

I look at Fox News online in the morning, quickly, because CNN is so ridiculous. During the day I'll look at some newspapers- NY Times, Washington Post, sometimes LA Times.

Auto run videos are terrible.

You can get rid of pop ups by installing adblocker plus, which is free and works like a charm.

I'm a news junkie. So, I usually check out the major cable networks and market news... my local newspaper and then three or four top national and international newspapers. I'm also a C-SPAN junkie... they have an excellent morning show covering Washington news.

I use Flipboard as well. I enjoy being able to configure it to my interests, specifically excluding topics such as celebrity-centric "news" in which I find no redeeming value.

It's getting tougher to find a news site with good reporting and less hyperbole.
My a.m. reading is: local paper (Hartford Courant) which has stories from WaPo
WaPo (Washington Post)
Reuters

Also, The Hill and Politico as needed

CNN is getting worse and worse - now a secondary go-to

When my daughter was in school, we used to get "The Economist" and that had more hard info than I ever dreamed.

One of my friends, who works in TV news, had an interesting outlook. He waits two weeks and if the story is still in the news, it's probably worth following.

best,

Rick

+1 to both of you

I have avoided CNN due to the auto start videos. Very annoying.

Gmtn, thanks for the suggestion of CNN lite. I will give it a try.

I like to read Reuters and BBC.

Thank you to Dirk for the Flipboard link, at first glance it looks very interesting.

I like the business versions of the majors for morning news.

I also use Morningstar for market news. Seems to me that market sites may have changed even more than news sites. The business sites I first used in the '90s, I don't visit anymore.

Anybody have great suggestions for market news sites? I also use sites of some of the major broker-dealers.

I listen to BBC Radio 4 most of the day, and watch BBC TV news in the evening. ITV and Sky seem fairly unbiased, but I don't read any newspaper now because they are - obviously biased. I smetimes go online to get more detail about "breaking" news.

I've watched both CNN and Fox in the USA and here on satellite TV - but Fox has recently been taken off air in the UK and/or EU.

I occasionally watch French, German, and other European national channels and Asian TV News channels. I used to watch Al Jazeera which seems pretty fair, and has a fair few ex BBC folk reporting, but haven't watched it recently.

CBC, Fox News, and CNN. I like to see the different perspectives.

Often I get my breaking news here on the AGF.
