Arrow New Build - Bayard Blain EXP 000 - IT’S DONE!!

Bayard Blain is a professional player and master luthier from Fayetteville, AR. He is widely diversified in instrument building including a variety of flattops, ukuleles and mandolins.

Bayard is just getting started with my build. It is a shape created by him called a EXP 000. Lower bout slightly smaller than a dread, tight waist and curvy shoulders. Woods will include a torrified spruce top and highly figured mahogany back and sides.

I have loved the Bayards that I've had a chance to play, and I hope I get to play more one of these days. I'm looking forward to following this build!

Got to spend a good deal of time with Bayard at the GAL convention this past summer. A very good builder and even nicer guy. Oh yeah, he’s a pretty good player as well. Look forward to seeing what he makes for you.

One of the most humble guys I have ever met. Updated to include torrified top photo.

That top does look amazing--what kind of spruce is it? Adi?

The build is looking mighty fine so far...

Yes sir, it's red spruce. Getting pretty pumped about this one. Should be completed in April.

Lol, yes. But to be fair there were a few weeks in between those two events. I was tardy getting the ledging pictures up. Bayard said based on the way this box is reacting to tap and music playing in the room, this one is going to be special. I should have my hands on it later in April.
