hey folks;does anyone use a DI with one of these pickups? just sounded real quacky last night....into a soloamp.

Try severely cutting the midrange, and cut the treble a bit, it should sound better.

Hi iSore...

Doesn't surprise me that it sounded quacky. It's an undersaddle piezo without a preamp.

And while preamps improve the tone of piezo undersaddle pickups, the quack is everpresent when you lean-on-it at all. It's probably a prime reason so many of us have switched from undersaddle to Sound Board Transducers.

Not the only reasons we switched, just the most frequent reason.
