Oh I'm just over here in LR - no need for a room. Thanks though!

I am very excited about this show in Memphis!!

I live on the Gulf Coast and have a son that lives in Memphis. Us folks that aren't on the east or west coast don't have access to many guitar shows without a lot of travel and expense so I truly believe there is a lot of pent-up demand for this in a place like Memphis.

I surely hope we can get some of the local luthiers to exhibit like Batson Guitars in Memphis - he makes amazing guitars but doesn't seen to circulate much in the guitar show circles.

I can't wait and am bringing a crew of guitarist with me and I'm sure we'll have a grand old time!!

Default Memphis Guitar Festival

Before putting this show together, I spoke with every festival producer I knew of; Julius Borges (Newport Festival), Chris Herrod (Healdsburg Festival) and Baker Rorick (Woodstock). I then spoke with many, many luthiers, some whom I knew, many whom I didn't...but respected; asked everyone, what would be the best festival for YOU. I believe there are hundreds if not thousands of people within a days drive of Memphis who would have loved to go to Healdsburg, but the travel & hotel costs might have been just too high. My goals are simple. I want to put on the best acoustic (only) guitar festival possible and for people to remember this weekend for years to come. There will be complete sensory overload with some of the finest guitars on this planet - being able to see them, touch them, play them, hear professionals play them and even buy them! It's a special treat to meet the exceptional luthiers who have dedicated their lives to making these wonderful instruments!!!! Even the nights will be extraordinary...we're taking over B.B. King's Friday night and have Graceland just for the festival - a catered dinner at the king's house. It just doesn't get much better...will maybe 2017 If anyone wants to volunteer to help out, I have some slots still open, send me a private message.

You are on your way to fulfilling many dreams and loading down agendas for mid-westerners.

I'm not sure there will be time to sleep!

Default Memphis Guitar Festival

While I know there are hundreds that will be coming from the midwest (based on the mail I receive); virtually all of my advance orders have been from both coasts...which shows the draw this show is having.

Just discovered this and am planning on attending. Well, as long as my daughter holds off on delivering the first grandchild. It will be my first ever guitar festival!

ipa53 - I hope your daughter's timing will be in sync with our festival

We have just set up an app on the website (www.MemphisGuitarFest.com); one for iPhone and one for Android that will make it really easy to check out everything from your phones or tablets! Check it out.

Wow, Bob. You have this very well organized. How awesome. If I knew how to handle a "real" phone I would be in better turn to the entire event, too.

Babies have their own timing. It's usually when we have other plans.

Steve (Doubleneck)

It will be great to see you and all others there!

Take time to visit the McJam. (7:00 - 9:00 PM Friday, June 5) for a chance to win a prize that includes a Memphis t-shirt and a Dog Tired guitar strap.

I hope everyone is getting as excited as we are. We just put the last rosette in for our Memphis guitars today. I know everyone has their own Memphis thread basically, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to post a couple pics.

A bearclaw sitka top with a new rosette for us. This will be paired with some wild koa and bound in BRW. Tell us what you think of this design.

Said back and sides for an SJ. It will have an arm bevel and soundport. We'll post more shots closer to completion.

Hope everyone is having a nice day.
