Enablers thanks- HMS Uke ordered
After watching a brother pickup & buy 2 ukes lately, then reading here and finding the ukulelesite.com I c-listed/sold a couple of extraneous pieces of gear & a bike then ordered a Pono Tenor Mango Deluxe with low G and gotoh UTB banjo looking tuners. Cant wait to get it and will post a pic when it arrives!

As a fairly new uke player myself (3 months)....welcome to the fold. I hope you have as much fun as I have playing the 'little guys'.
You have lots of odd little chords to learn, but since the uke is tuned to the same intervals as the first four strings of a guitar in standard tuning, things should click fairly quickly for you. Enjoy. |

The Pono tenor is fanatastic (you might try a high-G if you really want that distinctive ringing uke sound).
These are two great sites for learning as well: http://www.ukulelia.com/ http://dominator.ukeland.com/index2.shtml This is what go me going on uke a decade ago:

Shipped! Gotohs wouldn't work on the Pono. They sent a pic of the factory tuner indentions and holes that would show. Must tighten those things with an impact driver so I opted out. Woulda been cool. Lots to learn. In fact starting over really. Thanks for the links Ukejon.
