I REALLY wouldn't do that - it's not a great pickup, and it will ruin your guitar.

Oh for goodness sake... if you’re going to spend the money why not get something that will really give you what you want out of your guitar... Look toward L.R. Baggs!

Why do that when you can get a standard series Martin in the Retro series that has the F1 Aura Plus which is a far superior, much more natural sounding system with extensive features or opt for the Baggs Anthem they offer that also sounds more natural...even if I purchased a Taylor, say like the 514 which I like, I would not get the ES 2, many other options I prefer including an M80 mag.

Leaving aside the fact that there are folks who like the ES2 (I’m one of them) Taylor’s pickup system is not available for installation in non-Taylor guitars (as far as I know). What’s more it requires re-routing of the bridge if being retrofitted to a guitar even if you could get hold of a system (probably by removing it from a Taylor).

I agree with the others who say go for something else that is suited to retrofitting. There are plenty of options out there that will sound as good if not better then the ES2 but will be easier to get hold of and install.

That's the ES1.3 shown in the photo but we understand your question.
