Default Excellent case for a Emerald 12 string

https://youtu.be/j0mLUP-ZE-Y

Emeralds tone lends itself to the 12. Not too jangly. And Martin is just amazing.

I agree. He the man. Able to bring out the power in the guitar, then dial it back. tough the reign it in. I love the drone and the overtones.

do your chimera's do that?

Imo, yes. The thing to know about the Chimaera is that there are subtle sympathetic vibrations that emanate from the unplayed neck that don't really (audibly) factor into the overall tone, but the resonance can be heard if a song ends abruptly. If I'm playing a song using only one neck, I tend to capo the unplayed neck at the 12th fret (seems like the best placement to me to totally stop the vibrations). If I'm playing a song using both necks and the song has an abrupt ending, I make sure to simultaneously dampen the neck not played at that time. I hope my explanation makes sense.

I have had the pleasure of several meetings with and listening to Martin. There was a time when he was a strong advocate and model for a number of carbon fiber guitars--and he made them all sing. Not to diminish the quality of cf guitars, the truth of the matter is that Martin could take a guitar with a cracked face, a bent neck, a busted string or two, and make it sing. He is a phenomenal talent.

.

Well... stink! I thought I had some chops. As the saying goes... I guess I'll put some legs on my guitar and turn it into a coffee table!

Beautiful guitar... phenomenal playing, Martin.

Maybe he just need to grow a pointed beard? Worth a try?

Evan you are so right. Martin can find the best in every instrument.
Its because of musicians like Martin that I decided its best I forget about being a musician and stick to my supporting role.
Whats amazing about Martin is not just his technical playing but also his deep compositional knowledge. I hope you will also take a few minutes and listen to the other videos he recorded while he was with us recently.

And there was another side-bar icon of five guys playing Emerald instruments. That one just blew me away. In the normal course of things, it is hard to make five guitars work together in an orchestral way. Whoever those five guys are in the side-bar--they are incredible, and the sound is marvelous.

After watching that video, I see that Martin played each of the February Select Series guitars. I said to my wife, "That is MY guitar being played!"

She said, "Do you mean one like the guitar you have coming?"

"No, the exact guitar."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHFahKtLtVU

She sat down beside me to watch the video... "So, that is how it will sound?"

"Um... not when I play it. I may have to apologize to the guitar when it gets here."

These videos by Emerald are like the instruments they produce: SO well done.

There is a video somewhere of Martin playing my Doubleneck in a Utah gathering. Truely a nice fellow, but a little too talented! Lol. I'm here to tell you his talent doesn't rub off on the instrument.
