But I did write a song! It's a song about love. Kind of. Maybe a sad song about love. I hope you guys like it, because I am getting slowly away from just covers because of you guys. I have written 9 songs actually, and I think two of them are good. I hope this one makes three.
I liked it. Nice job.

Man, there is so much good stuff here. Though I can't contribute to this SOT, I'm really enjoying listening to it.

Thanks everyone!

Sombras, Hoagie, Pitar, Marshal... Finally listened in this quiet morning. Just awesome. Sombras your song rang especially true... We must be close in age, and both married the same amount of time.

Marshal, you have my dream guitar! I wan that J50!

Default Be Mine, Katy

Guys, I sincerely apologize about this recording. It is straight into my Zoom H4N and it isn't the best in the world. Plus, the song kind of gets faster as it goes along, but I wanted to get it posted before Valentine's Day, and this is going to be a BUSY week. Also, for some reason, the vocals are overpowered by the guitar. If I ever get this one worked out, I'll record it better at a later date.

I just wrote this this week and recorded it today. It's a true story about meeting my wife on Valentine's Day and we have been married for close to 20 years now.

I amended my original... I names it My Wildfire, and instead of strumming with a pick I wanted to try it fingerpicked, or whatever this is called.

Absolutely, completely forgot about this one. Again, I wrote it almost three years ago after a bad night for someone who, in spite of her best efforts, sometimes makes things harder than they need to be. I did it in some alternate tuning that I could never recover.

Excuse time! This is one of maybe three songs that I recorded on a clunky TASCAM digital unit that I never totally learned to use. The only way I could figure out to do a final mix was to do it live--I literally had to play the song on the unit and manually mix levels in real time. (You can hear this when I neglected to pot down the mic at the end of the second verse!) EQ capabilities were very limited, and I had no effects on the vocals, acoustic guitar, or bass--no reverb, compression, chorus, nothing. The only modulation was from the electric guitars in the instrumental portion which had a wet signal going into the board, the same for the drum machine effects. Everything else was a totally dry signal, thus my flat vocals.

The song turns instrumental after the second verse and essentially becomes another song that I wanted to reflect the mood, which wasn't happy, but wasn't hopeless, either.

That was a nice song, Sombras. I enjoyed that.

That's a great song, especially liked the harmonies on the chorus. It builds nicely.
