Default 1-3/4" Inch Nut Width

G&L's can be ordered new with a 1-3/4" nut. Larrivee telecaster type can also. Good luck finding a used G&L, I looked for 2 years. If you go with an 1-11/16" it does seem a Gibson has a little more room than a Fender. Although with time you learn to cope.

How about bridge spacing? I've tracked down various 1 3/4 or wider solutions at the nut end, but have a much harder time finding 2 1/4 or wider string spacing at the bridge.

One issue seems to be the sensing width of most electric guitar pickups. Neck width at the 12th fret is also problematic for someone who likes/needs room for the right hand to find the strings.
