It would be my luck that I buy one next week and then they announce a new one next month. LOL

Thanks Mark!

I have the TC Helicon VoiceLive 2. I've thought about getting the VoiceLive 3 and, as I've mentioned, with the recent promotions, it's a good time to get one. The VoiceLive 2 was out for about 4 years or so before the VoiceLive 3 was released. Being that the VoiceLive 3 has only been out for about 1-1/2 years, I'm thinking it's still got some shelf-life remaining before a VoiceLive 4 makes its appearance.

Regards,

SpruceTop (Ken)

There is a serious tone sucking issue (in the guitar chain) with the VL3.

See here:
https://forum.music-group.com/showth...disappointment

This might only be with "high resolution" pups like the Trance Amulet, Dazzo etc. It may not be an issue with USTs and Mics. But on my Trance equipped AJ it's definitely noticeable.

A Shame really, because now I have to have an extra looper and multi-FX on my acoustic board.

I get a good tone from my acoustic-electrics through my VoiceLive 2, which, strangely, is still being sold, and at a decent price of $299 or less. I'm thinking these harmonizer devices, regardless of manufacturer, give the most accurate harmonies when used with a UST, such as a Fishman Matrix with it's six individual sensors. When not in harmony-mode, and regardless of the pickup being used, these devices should render decent tone for other guitar effects that aren't as dependent as the harmony effect is on receiving the clear and articulate signal that a UST delivers. I suppose there are other variables that can affect the guitar's tone, though, such as gain-staging and other devices in-line prior to and/or after the harmony-pedal device.

Have one and really like it! There's really nothing on the market (that I know of) that comes close. I use the harmonizer sparingly but it's really good. I like if for certain Beach Boys and Temptations songs. I also do Seven Bridges Road by myself and it sounds great! Just like all TC Helicon products, the effects sound excellent. Got mine for about $350 new and have used it extensively for about a year now. Good purchase!

SpruceTop, put your VL2 in a A/B switcher's loop / true bypass pedal, so you can switch it in and out, keep it on clean (no fx, EQ), and see if you can hear/feel a difference with it in the loop.

I would really like to know that, because I may downgrade to the VL2 if that is the case...
