Taylor 110 neck/Joint crack?
I will start of by apoligizing for my english and hope you can help me with this.
I am a bit concern for my Taylor 110. It has a microscopic crack in the neck&body joint, (Less then a millimeter) like a egde of a pen. Beauty faults doesn't concern me but im woundering if this is a wakeup call. Im guessing its normal for healthy wood to "move" and the "plastic?" binding might give in It hold its tuning perfectly, there is no sign of dehydration, it has never been dropped or otherwise damaged. I live in sweden and the wheather here is never warm and always high in humidity. I store it on a inner wall and once in a while i take it to its case with a dampener. Here is some detailed pictures. http://imgur.com/a/Kc8Ah Am i just whining or is this a real issue? |

Do not worry - this is no problem.
Taylor use a bolt-on neck and they have a tiny gap there that they fill at the factory with a matching putty. It is totally OK. You can get color putty if you want to hide the gap but this is not like a glue-on neck.
