Default Two originals - Captain & Break In the Weather

Hey guys, even though my period of doing acoustic stuff for a while is kind of done, these are some of my songs that I recorded that I was somewhat happy with. The Break In the Weather song vocals are a little dodgy - it was pretty early in the morning. But its pretty much close, just little nuances here and there

These were recorded in my room - drums done with EZdrummer through fruity loops. They are very 'Jack Johnsony'

I'd love to hear comments and critique, but to be honest at this point in time I wouldn't change them. Please don't let that hold you back!

Break In the Weather starts off slow but about halfway through all the instruments come in.

Here are the two songs:

Captain
Break In the Weather

Captain is one of my favorite songs I've written and Break in the Weather was to help me feel better, if you somehow missed that in the lyrics

Captain:

We used to sail on intuition
Winds high, begin, the expedition
When we had holes
We'd fix them
But now we're rusted incomplete and...

The high seas
Are a little lower now
The wind has somewhat died down
And all of the mysteries
Have been explained by history

So captain
Where do you wanna go?
That we haven't already been

The winds that brought us - motors conquered the breeze
The waves that rocked us - now are parted with ease
Navigation by starlight
Thrown off by satellite

So captain
Where can we go?
That we haven't already been

Break In the Weather:

I'm waiting for a break in the weather
Maybe it'll help me feel better but I
Well I don't know

Haven't seen the sun in over a week
People talking to me with tongue in cheek
Maybe it's just me

There's been a cloud above my head for some time
And sometimes the one you love
Can't ever seem to make up their mind
And hope come pouring from your eyes and from the sky like rain
It'll wet your taste, then be washed away

Been waiting for a break in the weather
I'm hoping it'll help me feel better but I
I still don't know
Hanging over like the overcast
The funny thing about the past
Is it never seems to last

There's been a cloud above my head for some time
And sometimes the one you love
Can't ever seem to make up their mind
And hope come pouring from your eyes and from the sky like rain
It'll wet your taste, then be washed away

Finally there's a break in the weather
Told you it would help me feel better
Well I'll admit, I wasn't so sure
Looking back now it seems so silly
A little heartbreak it ain't gonna kill me, no
There's so much more

There's been a cloud above my head for some time
And sometimes the one you love
Can't ever seem to make up their mind
And hope come pouring from your eyes and from the sky like rain
It'll wet your taste, then be washed away
But the sun will come and dry up all of your tears
When it kisses your face remember that
I told you all I needed to help me feel better
Was a little break, break in the weather

I love your songs man, remind me a little bit of John Sebastian on the vocals, keep up the good work!

Hey thanks a lot! I will have to check him out. Are you sure they sound ok? I'm the most insecure about my singing..
