Cleats for cracks
Anyone have much exp with using balsa wood?
I am thinking about using this material... Its strong for its wood class, and very light... Would really like some input on balsa wood.... |

I normally use either Spruce, or whatever kind of wood I'm cleating for the cleat. I've never used Balsa. If you're in the US I'll be glad to mail you some spruce scraps for cleats. (I'm not saying balsa won't work, I just know spruce does)

You know, my football coach demonstrated cleats for cracks pretty regularly.

balsa?
I'm guessing that the gule you put it in with would be more structural than the balsa! crackerbread would be stronger!

I have been thinking of using balsa for some light hair-line cracks...
I have nothing which is split wide open... Someone suggested using fabric cleats... Like silk strips, soaked in glue...Kind of like paper mache... MM |
