Default Time in a Bottle by Jim Croce

This is a video I did couple of years ago using my Gibson Advanced Jumbo Luthier's Choice. The arrangement used here is not the classic Jim Croce arrangement but my take on how I wanted to play the song.

Thanks for listening.

Thank you Rick!

On the guitar, the recording is done with Martin SP 80/20 light strings. I have since started using D'Addario EJ16 (PB, light) on this guitar to sort of mellow out the brightness of this guitar just a little. I like it even better with PB strings.

Nicely done, Glenn - the playing, the singing, the arranging, and the recording!

Thank you Paul. Actually, I like Jim Croce's arrangement, too. I just wanted to try something a little different that still hits at the basic structure of his arrangement.

When Jim Croce figured out this song late at night on one of his breaks from touring, he went up and woke up his wife and played it for her next to their bed. It sure turned out to be a rather prophetic song considering that he was killed in a plane crash not too long after that.

Very nice... Wonderful.

Was that recorded with 1 mic?
Or is their one for the guitar too?

Thank you Jake.

There are (2) stereo small diaphragm condenser mics (Rode NT5 with omni capsules) on the guitar and for voice I am using a large diaphragm condenser mic, an AudioTechnica AT4050. All mics go through good quality tube mic preamps before going to my computer Presonus computer interface. I record on computer to Cubase at 48 khz for video.

Thanks for your comments!
