One of the surprising aspects of the Baggs pickup lineup is the enduring popularity of the M1. I wonder if they’ve done any experiments with blending the M1 with their new internal mic.

Their best pickup is the next one you will buy.

So it is one of the nine… as long as it’s a Baggs.

Note that LR Baggs does have his own way. All the preamps are discrete transistors based designs. Most of their competitors use integrated circuits like opamps… let’s take the HiFi duet, we have good clues from the Baggs salesman at a NAMM that the preamp might provide the same kind of low end management than Baggs other preamps. So it might be nonlinear (compression) On the opposite the Trance audio amulet preamps has just a hgihpass filter and increased dynamic and linearity thanks to the voltage multiplier. Those are two different approaches… The Baggs Salesman seems to say Baggs tries to mimic the acoustic response perception… on the opposite Trance Audio tries to stay true to what the sensor senses… which one is best? No one knows but only one will get your money. (I have pickups from both brands)

Truth is designing acoustic pickup and pickup electronics is an art.

It combines mechanics, sensing, electronics, signal processing, musical taste and some sens of what a music performance is…
So having 9 pieces in your art gallery is not that shocking.
